Week 2 Discussion 2: Health-Promoting Activities

Contamination of the environment refers to the process of making the surrounding dirty and unhealthy. The contamination of the environment occurs when we place harmful substances into the environment at a faster rate than they can be decomposed, dispersed, or even stored in a form that is harmless to the surrounding. The following are some of the behaviors that can make me contribute to the contamination of the environment. To begin with, incorrect disposal of waste products is bound to make me contribute substantially to the contamination of the environment. This behavior leads to water, and soil pollution depending on where the waste is placed. The use of detergents also leads to water pollution which threatens aquatic life. Relatively, excessive use of domestic water that is bound to become sewage contributes to water pollution (Campbell, Greenberg, Mankikar, & Ross, 2016). Thus, if I were to use water in an unregulated manner both at home and in my place of work, I am likely to contribute to the contamination of the environment where the water is disposed of……
