Abstract & Introduction
Task Description
You are required to write a 500 word draft Abstract and Introduction for your creative research project. This draft will then be revised and incorporated into Assessment 3: Exegesis. Your Abstract & Introduction is designed to provide an overview of what your intended creative research project is, what the intended outcomes are, and how this project will happen. It will provide context and background for your next two assessment tasks. It requires the use of in-text citations, and appropriate CQU referencing. You should include a cover sheet with your student name, student number, unit code, assessment title, and date of submission. It should be written in at least 12 point font with 1.5 line spacing. Please use paragraphs and page numbers. Please note: the word count is considered from the first word of the main text of the assessment to the last word of the main text of the assessment. It excludes the cover page, contents page, reference page and appendices. It includes in-text referencing, direct quotations and words contained within tables that are in the body of the assignment. The assignment should fall within 10% +/- of the word count. The structure of the Abstract and Introduction can be varied, but should include: – mention unit content and concepts as discussed in class and on the Moodle site – evidence of independent research, including academic peer-reviewed sources – working title of your creative research project – a brief overview of your intended project and its outcomes – an explanation of how the project relates to your research focus – keywords that are relevant to your project Further information about the assessment will be provided during lectures and tutorials, and the Moodle site. |
